Phenomenological Analysis of BTS Celebrity Worship Fans

Abstract

The focus of this research is to analyze the phenomenology of Celebrity Worship towards fans of the K-Pop boy group from Korea, namely Bangtan Sonyeondan or what can be called BTS. This study used a qualitative descriptive method, this method was taken because the researcher wanted to describe the conditions that would be observed in the field in a more specific, transparent and in-depth manner. The results of this study revealed that 5 respondents indicated that the subject fulfilled the elements of interest and motivation to do something that was influenced by his idol. The five subjects showed the four aspects of celebrity worship, Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS, Parasocial Interaction Scale (PSI), Celebrity Appeal Questionnaire (CAQ, and Spot Fan Motivation Scale (SFMS). It was illustrated that these aspects were related to what was experienced by the respondents.
