Abstract

Debido al largo proceso administrativo que habitualmente sigue en España el proyecto y construcción de las grandes obras públicas, ha ocurrido algunas veces que, una vez establecido un trazado o un emplazamiento, resulta extremadamente difícil y costoso cambiarlo sustancialmente, incluso aunque los estudios posteriores demuestren la existencia de una geología problemática. En algunas ocasiones, los aspectos geológicos no han tenido la suficiente profundidad en las primeras etapas de proyecto (anteproyecto, estudio de factibilidad, estudio informativo): podrían citarse ejemplos de obras en las que el presupuesto inicial se ha triplicado por problemas geológicos no detectados en las primeras fases de estudio. En este trabajo, pretendemos dar a conocer un ejemplo de lo contrario, como (y gracias a una serie de dilaciones en proceso administrativo), ha sido posible variar sustancialmente el trazado de una línea ferroviaria en fase temprana de proyecto, evitando un terreno salino muy desfavorable.
