Offshore wind turbines have the potential to transform electricity production. Floating platforms have been developed to generate profitable and efficient energy in deep waters, but still face significant challenges. This work proposes the use of evolutionary computation to optimize passive structural control techniques in floating barge-type wind turbines, aiming to mitigate pendular loads. Control devices, such as Tuned Mass Dampers (TMDs), are analyzed in the FAST-SC simulator. Optimization uses the standard deviation of tower fatigue as a fitness function. The optimization seeks to improve TMD performance, limiting the stroke to the nacelle.
