Séries quadráticas e não dodecafônicas como estruturas fundamentais na construção de uma obra para quinteto de metais

Abstract

Neste trabalho descrevemos os procedimentos composicionais utilizados no planejamento de uma obra para quinteto de metais, cujos materiais são oriundos de séries quadráticas e séries não dodecafônicas. As primeiras possibilitam a criação de matrizes dodecafônicas com 96 formas seriais, ou seja, o dobro das possibilidades disponíveis no dodecafonismo tradicional. As segundas nos permitem manipular séries com cardinalidade menor do que doze e, com elas, produzir matrizes que podem ser mapeadas em diversos parâmetros musicais, tais como altura, dinâmicas, articulações etc. As bases teóricas para a construção de séries quadráticas se originam nos estudos sobre simetria musical, com especial foco nas operações de rotação em torno de cinco eixos. Adicionalmente, serão utilizados repositórios construídos a partir de contrapontos dissonantes como elementos de contraste.
