The Costs and Benefits of AACSB Accreditation

Abstract

This session is organized to provide an open discussion by the panel members to generally discuss the value for the stakeholders, and concrete benefits and costs of AACSB accreditation for business schools in the U.S. In sharing knowledge and experiences in AACSB accreditation, some of the specific questions that may also be addressed are: - Is the value for AACSB accreditation the same for undergraduate and graduate schools? - How have things changed since being accredited? - How does accreditation help business schools to compete? - Do employers care if prospective students graduate from an AACSB accredited undergraduate, or graduate school? - Do graduate schools care if their prospective students graduate from an AACSB accredited undergraduate school before they accept the students? - Do qualifications for AACSB accreditation by undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate schools differ? - Is AACSB accreditation needed to attract and retain new faculty? - What curriculum issues do schools face to qualify for AACSB accreditation?
