Abstract

Članek obravnava epistemološka vprašanja sodobne psihologije in izhaja iz teze, da mora znanstvena psihologija zadostiti trem poglavitnim interesom: znanstvenemu, praktičnemu in emancipatornemu interesu. Zlasti pomemben je emancipatoren interes, ki temelji na družbeni refleksiji znanstvenega dela in ugotovitev. Psihološka spoznanja niso le nevtralni opis dejstev, temveč tudi implicitni predpis, vrednostno ali normativno pričakovanje ali kritika nezaželenega obnašanja. Tradicionalni model psihologije skuša ustreči znanstvenemu in delno praktičnemu interesu, izogiblje pa se emancipatornemu interesu. Menim, da je pomen sodobnih tako imenovanih sociohistoričnih modelov psihologije ravno v tem, da vključujejo tudi emancipatorni interes. Razlika med obema modeloma psihologije se zelo izrazito kaže v pojmovanju identitete oz. individualnosti. Na eni strani imamo konvencionalna pojmovanja, ki sledijo logiki "posestniškega individualizma", po katerih je posameznik avtonomen nosilec in posestnik svojih psiholoških stanj in procesov. Konvencionalni model identitete potrjuje modernistični koncept osrediščenosti posameznika na svoje sebstvo, jaz, osebno identiteto. Na drugi strani imamo sociohistorična pojmovanja, po katerih je posameznik bitje družbenih odnosov in socialnih interakcij, ki svojo individualnost gradi in izraža v družbi, v refleksiji svojih socialnih interakcij, diskurznih praks, odzivov na hierarhije moči in družbene mehanizme nadzorovanja. Po sociohistoričnem modelu identiteta nastaja skozi zaporedje socialnih konstrukcij, ki se utelešajo v posamezniku in ga reprezentirajo v družbi. Identiteta postane tako pojem, ki povezuje individualnost in družbeni kontekst, subjektiviranje in objektiviranje posameznika, zgodovinski in biografski čas.
