
Este ensaio aborda o questionamento de Spivak – “Pode o subalterno falar?”, dispondo uma demanda precedente – “Pode o subalterno ser representado?”. Para tanto, analisa-se três filmes brasileiros – Deus e o Diabo na Terra do Sol (1964), de Glauber Rocha; O Bandido da Luz Vermelha (1968), de Rogério Sganzerla; e Jogo Duro (1985), de Ugo Giorgetti, investigando-se uma inversão representativa das narrativas e uma mudança da hierarquia dos gêneros. Como método, dialoga-se esses longa-metragens com interlocutores sociológicos, como Bakhtin, Bourdieu e Collins, sob o intuito de aprofundamento das questões dispostas para a representação da subalternidade. Sob nossa hipótese, estes filmes materializariam a pré-existência do elemento representativo para a conseguinte interposição do elemento de arguição, podendo atuar como instrumentos de agenciamento político, ainda que bloqueado o pleno acesso ao direito legítimo da fala.
