Os Krahô, os tubérculos, os hôxwa e artistas

Abstract

Adiante nos debruçaremos sobre a Festa da Batata dos Krahô, que na língua desta etnia recebe o nome de Yetÿopi. Tal ritual faz referência ao conhecimento adquirido pelos Krahô graças ao contato que um deles tivera com a Batata e outros tubérculos no tempo mítico. Hoje esta festa possui uma série de atos que constroem o ritual como um todo condizente com o modo de produção do conhecimento krahô. Um desses atos é a dança dos hôxwa em torno da fogueira em um determinado momento da festa. Serão os hôxwa o ponto nodal deste artigo, que busca fazer alguns apontamentos sobre a relação de alteridade proporcionado pelo apelo estético que sua dança produz. Por fim, nos é desafiador pensar sobre os desdobramentos deste apelo, uma vez que tal dança também se tornou uma manifestação reconhecida como artística por artistas e apresentadas no contexto do espetáculo, não se limitando à festa ritual realizada no interior da aldeia.
