Aprendizagem ativa de Geociências no Ensino Médio

Abstract

Introduction. In the context of climate change, it is essential that high school students develop a systemic understanding of the processes and phenomena related to water resources, fostering a critical attitude toward the conservation of this vital resource. Objective. This work presents an educational and interactive material about the hydrological cycle, specifically designed for high school students, with emphasis on the interaction between surface and groundwater reservoirs. Methodology. For this purpose, lesson plans were developed and tested using scale models. Results. The classroom experience allowed students to observe the interactions between rainfall, rivers, and aquifers, and also facilitated the visualization of the water contamination process within the hydrological cycle. The proposed material is aligned with the guidelines of the BNCC (Brazilian Common Core Curriculum) and can be incorporated as part of an elective subject in the state of São Paulo’s curriculum. Conclusion. This methodology, developed by graduate students, not only fulfills a role in university outreach but can also be replicated by other educators in the classroom, ensuring active learning and civic education regarding water resources.
