Entre Barros. Calles, casas y hogares alfareros en Mota del Cuervo a mediados del siglo XVIII

Abstract

En esta comunicación pretendemos analizar la familia y la sociedad rural a través de las casas de los alfareros de la villa de Mota del Cuervo en el siglo XVIII. Partiendo de los datos que nos ofrece el Catastro del Marqués de la Ensenada, pondremos en relación las calles, las casas (distribución en planta, estancias y superficie), hogares (estructura, tamaño y composición) y propiedades de los artesanos alfareros registrados en esta población y agrupados en torno al barrio de las Cantarerías, para quienes el barro era, como tiempo después escribiera el poeta Miguel Hernández, su profesión y destino.

El presente trabajo forma parte del proyecto de investigación: “Familia, curso de vida y reproducción social en la España centro-meridional, 1700-1860”, referencia HAR2010-21325-C05-03, del que es Investigador Principal Francisco García González y ha sido posible gracias a la financiación concedida por el Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación
