Courbe de progestérone plasmatique du cycle oestral chez les races taurines trypanotolérantes de Côte-d'Ivoire

Abstract

Pendant 45 jours, du sang a été prélevé quotidiennement sur 12 vaches Ndama et 12 vaches Baoulé cyclées pour doser la progestérone plasmatique. La durée du cycle observée était de 20,4 et 21,4 jours respectivement. La concentration moyenne en progestérone était de 0,6 ng/ml le jour des chaleurs. Après le 3e jour, elle augmentait de 1,3 à 1,4 ng/ml/j et se stabilisait, jusqu'à un plateau, du 8e jour (Ndama) ou du 9e jour (Baoulé) jusqu'au 17e jour du cycle avec une valeur moyenne de 9,5 ng/ml (Ndama) ou 9,3 ng/ml (Baoulé). Cette concentration a chuté brusquement après le 17e jour du cycle à raison de 3 ng/ml/j. La phase avec moins de 2 ng/ml a duré 5,7 jours pour les Ndama et 5,9 jours pour les Baoulé avec un écart de 4 à 9 jours. La phase pendant laquelle le taux de progestérone a été supérieur à 2 ng/ml a duré 14,5 (Ndama) et 14,9 jours (Baoulé) avec un écart de 13 à 19 jours. Des cas atypiques ont été rencontrés pour lesquels la concentration était supérieure à 3 ng/ml le jour des chaleurs pour 12 p. 100 de celles-ci. La concentration plasmatique en progestérone permet, pour les races taurines trypanotolérantes ivoiriennes, d'étudier la cyclicité (puberté, reprise de l'activité post partum) et de diagnostiquer la non-gestation 21 à 24 jours après l'insémination artificielle.
