Abstract

Un vaccin lyophilisé contre la maladie de Newcastle a été fabriqué à partir d'un dérivé thermotolérant V4/276 de la souche de virus V4 (UPM). Le titre moyen de chaque flacon est de 10 puissance 10,4 DIO50 après 14 jours de conservation à + 4°C et de 10 puissance 10 DIO50 après 126 jours. Lors d'une incubation à 45°C pendant 7 et 14 jours, il s'est abaissé respectivement à 10 puissance 8,5 DIO50 et 10 puissance 8,2 DIO50. Ce vaccin a été aussi exposé à la température ambiante à Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) durant la première quinzaine du mois de juillet 1991, période au cours de laquelle la température oscille le plus souvent entre 25 et 32°C sans jamais dépasser 35°C : après des séjours de 7 et 14 jours à l'extérieur, ce vaccin a gardé un titre moyen de 10 puissance 9,3 DIO50/flacon. Il est destiné à l'enrobage de grains servant de nourriture aux volailles des villages africains.
