Laporan Kasus: Infeksi Cacing Strongyloides pada Kucing Peliharaan

Abstract

Strongyloidiasis adalah penyakit yang disebabkan oleh cacing nematoda Strongyloides sp. Hewan kasus adalah kucing peliharaanberjenis kelamin betina, berumur tujuh bulan,dengan bobot badan 2,24 kg. Kucing kasus mengalami diare selama satu minggu setelah dua minggu dipelihara yang disertai dengan penurunan nafsu makan. Hasil pemeriksaan fisik menunjukkan gejala dehidrasi, lemas, mukosa mulut dan mata pucat, serta pembesaran pada abdomen.Pada pemeriksaan feses dengan metode natif ditemukan telur cacing Strongyloides sp..Pemeriksaan darah lengkap menunjukkan kucing kasus mengalami leukositosis. Kucing kasus didiagnosis menderita Strongyloidiasis. Penanganan kucing kasus dilakukan dengan diberikanantiparasit ivermectin0,2mg/kg BB, terapi suportif dengancyanocobalamin250 mcg/ kg BBsecara intramuskuler dan diulang duahari sekali.Hasil pengobatan selama satu minggu menunjukkan perkembangan yangbaikditandai dengan kucing kasus sudah tidak mengalami diare, capillary refill time(CRT) kurang dari 2 detik, turgor kulit normal, mukosa mulut dan mata berwarna merah muda, serta abdomen kembali normal.Pemeriksaan feses kembali dilakukansetelah satu minggu pengobatan sebagai evaluasi. Pemeriksaan feses dilakukandengan metode natif dan tidak ditemukan telur cacing Strongyloides sp.Untuk mencegah terjadinya infeksi kembali disarankan untuk memberikan obat cacing secara berkala setiap tigabulan sekali.Perbaikan nutrisi perlu dilakukan dengan memberikan pakan yang baik serta lingkungan yang lebih nyaman.
