Abstract

O cajuzinho-do-cerrado (Anacardium humile) é uma espécie florestal com potencial económico para a indústria alimentar, farmacêutica e cosmética. Este trabalho teve como objetivo determinar e correlacionar as principais características biométricas dos hipocarpos, dos frutos (núculas) e da semente (castanha) e a identificação do substrato ideal para a germinação das sementes, bem como correlacionar as características biométricas das plântulas de cajuzinho-do-cerrado. Analisaram-se em 100 hipocarpos frescos e 100 frutos as seguintes características biométricas: comprimento longitudinal, largura, espessura, massa fresca, massa seca, volume, teor de água e, a massa seca de 100 sementes. Para a determinação do substrato ideal, o ensaio foi inteiramente casualizado, com dois tratamentos (substratos) e dez repetições, cada parcela foi composta por 20 sementes. Os substratos avaliados foram: areia lavada e substrato comercial (Plantmax HT®). Avaliou-se a altura de plantas, o comprimento radicular, o diâmetro do hipocótilo, a massa seca de raízes e parte aérea, a massa seca total e os índices morfológicos: relação entre a massa seca da parte aérea/raízes, o quociente de robustez e o índice de qualidade de Dickson. Os hipocarpos, frutos e sementes de cajuzinho-do-cerrado possuem grandes variações biométricas, bem como correlação significativa e positiva predominante entre elas. Para o desenvolvimento inicial de plantas de cajuzinho-do-cerrado o substrato utilizado pode ser areia lavada ou substrato comercial.
