Abstract

Eugenia involucrata apresenta sementes recalcitrantes e é dotada de elevado potencial econômico e ambiental, o que justifica a realização de estudos relacionados à produção de mudas via cultura de tecidos. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar concentrações de Polivinilpirrolidona (PVP) e GA3 no cultivo in vitro. Testaram-se diferentes concentrações de PVP: 0; 0,5; 1 ou 1,5 g L-1 e, em um segundo experimento, de GA3: 0; 1; 2 ou 4 µM, em dois períodos de cultivo in vitro (30 ou 60 dias). Não houve efeito significativo de PVP, observando-se médias altas para sobrevivência (83,10%) e estabelecimento (73%), mas baixas para oxidação fenólica (16,55%). Foi observado efeito significativo do período de cultivo apenas para sobrevivência, já sobre altura média e número de brotos, somente do GA3. A maior sobrevivência ocorreu aos 30 (88,10%), observando-se decréscimo aos 60 dias (61,45%). Para altura dos brotos, a maior média (0,52 cm) foi obtida a 4 μM de GA3, já, na sua ausência, ocorreu a menor média (0,12 cm). Para número de brotos, obteve-se maior média (4,5) na sua ausência, enquanto, a 4 μM, ocorreu o menor número (0,15). PVP é dispensável; GA3 apresenta efeito no alongamento in vitro, mas reduz o número de brotos em E. involucrata.
