Qualidade da madeira de eucalipto para aplicação como mourão tratado

Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar as características anatômicas e físico-mecânicas da madeira de Eucalyptus grandis x Eucalyptus urophylla (E. urograndis) visando sua aplicação como mourão tratado. Foram selecionadas dez árvores de plantação florestal com 7 anos, cortadas e seccionados discos e toras de madeira em diferentes alturas fixas do tronco, da base até a altura total, a cada 3m, para a determinação das características físicas (densidade básica e porcentagem de rachaduras), dimensões das fibras (comprimento, espessura da parede, diâmetro do lume e largura total) e dos vasos (diâmetro tangencial, frequência e porcentagem de área ocupada), relação cerne/alburno e propriedades mecânicas na flexão estática (MOR e MOE). A madeira do E. grandis x E. urophylla, aos 7 anos, apresenta características anatômicas e físico-mecânicas que indicam a sua utilização em processos de tratamento preservativo para aplicações das peças como mourões.
