Abstract

Este estudo teve como objetivo relacionar o comportamento fenológico da cagaiteira (Eugenia dysenterica DC.) às condi­ções edafoclimáticas, selecionando plantas mais produtivas e precoces. O estudo foi desenvolvido em cagaiteiras cul­tivadas na área da Escola de Agronomia da Universidade Federal de Goiás (EA/UFG), em Goiânia, GO, Brasil. Foram realizadas leituras da altura total e da circunferência do caule a 10 cm do solo. Os estudos das fenofases ocorreram semanalmente, de setembro de 2011 a abril de 2012. Os dados climatológicos foram obtidos na Estação Evaporimétrica da EA/UFG. As plantas, com 14 anos, apresentaram altura de 3,6 m a 7,5 m e circunferência de caule de 38 cm a 81 cm. A maior emissão de folhas ocorreu em setembro, juntamente com a emissão de botões e flores; e a frutificação em outubro. Progênies de Catalão, Luziânia, Goiânia e Senador Canedo se destacaram quanto à precocidade e produção de frutos, sendo indicadas para um futuro melhoramento genético.
