Abstract

<p>La cachaza es un residuo del proceso de producción de panela. En los últimos años se han realizado estudios para evaluar la posible utilización de este subproducto en la agricultura, a fin de ofrecer a los agricultores alternativas más económicas para fertilizar sus cultivos. El objetivo principal de esta investigación fue evaluar la cachaza como fertilizante orgánico en el cultivo de fríjol y como mejorador de suelo. Se aplicaron seis tratamientos, con cuatro repeticiones: 3 dosis de cachaza (12 t·ha-1, 6 t·ha-1 y 6 t·ha-1 + 400 kg 15-15-15 NPK), el requerimiento de fertilización química (800 kg·ha-1 15-15-15 NPK) y el de orgánica (6 t·ha-1 Abimgra), basados en análisis de suelos, y todo se comparó con un testigo absoluto (sin fertilización) en un diseño completamente al azar. De acuerdo con investigaciones anteriores, la cachaza se aplicó a las parcelas 25 días antes de sembrar el cultivo, para que cumpliera su proceso de descomposición normal y no afectara la germinación. Al momento de la cosecha se evaluaron variables morfológicas (altura de planta, diámetro del tallo, número de hojas, número de vainas por planta, número de granos por vaina, peso fresco de 10 granos, área foliar, fitomasa en fresco y seco de tallo y hojas, y variables edáficas (densidad aparente y estabilidad estructural). Los mayores rendimientos se obtuvieron con la mezcla de 50% de dosis de cachaza + 50% de fertilización química.</p>
