T H E MICROVASCULATURE of the periodontium must be delineated anatomically and studied in function inasmuch as tissue behavior is related intimately to vascular competency. As the microcirculation may be altered in distribution, structure and behavior in many disease processes (viz, inflammation, occlusal traumatism, diabetes mellitus) knowledge of the basal details of periodontal vascularization is indispensable.
