Abstract This paper shows the results of modeling work to determine the effect of variations in the electrowetting display manufacturing process on the front‐of‐screen performance. This approach enables us to determine which parameters are crucial to ascertain a high quality display, regardless of the display dimensions and resolution. Overall, the modeling work contributes to improve the electrowetting display manufacturing technology and as such to further improve the performance of these displays.
