Abstract— A perfectly flat‐face color‐monitor tube with 0.24‐mm‐pitch stripe screen has been developed. The anisotropically tensioned mask with slot holes has made it possible. The bonded front glass plate with conductive A/R (anti‐reflection) coating satisfies TCO regulation and the high performance new DQ‐DAF electron gun has been introduced. This tube is combined with newly developed deflection yoke which maintains self‐convergence function for multi‐scanning application in the display monitors. For the first time, the system includes three criteria for the next‐generation color‐monitor tube: perfectly flat screen, stripe phosphor arrangement, and multi‐scanning function.
