La experiencia de habitar el interior doméstico como forma de repensar la torre de apartamentos

Abstract

Como consecuencia al aumento de población en los centro urbanos, una nueva tipología de edificio ha tenido un mayor impacto en el paisaje urbano, la torre de apartamentos. Esta tipología cambia las dinámicas de socialización entre vecinos y elimina la condición barrial al ser objetos arquitectónicos separados de la ciudad. Debido a intereses económicos, estos desarrollos han reducido al máximo los espacios habitacionales, ofreciendo unidades entre 30 y 70 m2 sin acceso a una correcta iluminación y ventilación natural o espacios exteriores como balcones o patios. La calidad de vida de los habitantes se ve altamente deteriorada debido a estos formatos de alta densidad habitacional, afectando estados de ánimo y relaciones interpersonales. Este artículo analiza el desarrollo de esta tipología, dando una perspectiva histórica y social de sus inicios como parte de la arquitectura moderna y su potencialidad futura en el contexto actual. El objetivo del estudio consiste en brindar alternativas tanto arquitectónicas como de gestión y organización social que permitan un desarrollo inmobiliario que tribute a una mejor sociabilidad en la ciudad y una mejor calidad de vida para sus habitantes. Haciendo énfasis a la relación simbiótica entre la pequeña escala del edificio de vivienda e interior doméstico y la ciudad como construcción colectiva.
