CULTIVO INTENSIVO DE ESPÉCIES CARNÍVORAS

Abstract

O cultivo de espécies carnívoras depende principalmente do conhecimento dos aspectos comportamentais e das exigências nutricionais para o desenvolvimento desta atividade. Para diminuir as lacunas existentes entre o setor produtivo do pescado e o setor tecnológico, faz-se necessário à elaboração de dietas com ingredientes mais acessíveis e baratos. Espécies carnívoras apresentam-se bastante promissoras, devido o interesse multiespecífico deste recurso para os diversos setores ligados à cadeia produtiva do pescado. Contudo, pesquisas realizadas anteriormente com estes peixes em ambiente de cultivo, mostraram-se desmotivadoras. O alto grau de canibalismo e a falta de informação sobre exigências nutricionais serviram como entrave no desenvolvimento do cultivo intensivo destas espécies. Por outro lado, a adaptabilidade a ambientes com condições limnológicas variadas, a voracidade, a aceitabilidade a dietas secas quando submetidos ao treinamento alimentar e o bom desempenho zootécnico destas espécies, capturadas em açudes, represas, pequenas barragens e tanques escavados se mostraram animadoras.
