LARVICULTURA DO TAMBAQUI EM DIFERENTES DENSIDADES DE ESTOCAGEM

Abstract

O domínio da tecnologia de produção de alevinos de tambaqui Colossoma macropomum (Cuvier, 1816) e sua conseqüente prática como procedimento de rotina das estações de piscicultura, é um evento que se reveste da maior importância para o desenvolvimento da aqüicultura continental. O objetivo deste trabalho foi testar o efeito de duas densidades de estocagem de tambaqui na fase de larvas, em tanques de alvenaria, e analisar a sobrevivência e o crescimento médio visando verificar a densidade que apresenta o melhor desempenho e disponibilizar juvenis desta espécie para piscicultores. O experimento foi realizado em 10 tanques de alvenaria. Foram utilizados dois tratamentos: T1 (50 pós-larvas/m2) e T2 (100 pós-larvas/m2), com cinco repetições cada. Durante os 40 dias as pós-larvas foram alimentadas com plâncton e ração até a saciedade. A sobrevivência não apresentou diferença entre os tratamentos. O crescimento médio foi maior na densidade de 50 pós-larvas/m2. O tratamento T1 é propício para o cultivo intensivo e o tratamento T2 para cultivos extensivos e semi-intensivos.
