Michel Foucault y la estructura trágica. Una temprana lectura nietzscheana de la tragedia

Abstract

This work aims to investigate the status of the tragic in the early texts of Michel Foucault, especially in the original preface of Histoire de la folie à l'age classique. We argue that Foucault, from an early reading of Nietzsche, elaborates the concept of tragic structure to give foundation, in epistemic terms, to the various historical experiences of madness. In a second moment, we trace the different formulations on the tragic present in the previous texts, where we observe that the concept is elaborated in relation to the experiences of negativity and forgetting in the field of psychological knowledge. Finally, we will give an account of how the Foucaultean reworking of Friederich Nietzsche's tragic conception accounts for a determination of history through the dispute between the Dionysian and Apollonian elements.
