Abstract

The given work is devoted to the study of the antimicrobial properties of betulin and betulonic acid using the disk diffusion method. Also, the spectrum of biological activity of betulonic acid was predicted using the PASS online program and the SwissADME web server. As part of the study, the following tasks were solved: 1. Selection of research objects: betulin, betulonic acid and test cultures. 2. Extraction of betulin and synthesis of betulonic acid. 3. Identification of betulin and betulonic acid. 4. Predicting the spectrum of biological activity of betulin and betulonic acid using the PASS online program, as well as predicting their physicochemical characteristics using the SwissADME web server. 5. Study of the antimicrobial properties of betulin and betulonic acid. The work was carried out on the basis of the laboratory of biotechnology of the Graduate School of Biotechnology and Food Sciences Institute of Biomedical Systems and Biotechnology, where betulin was extracted, betulonic acid was synthesized, and its antimicrobial activity was studied using test cultures. As a result of the study, it was found that betulin exhibits the greatest inhibitory effect against Rhodotorula rubra at a concentration of 50 mg/ml, and betulonic acid is most effective against Rhodotorula rubra at a concentration of 1 mg/ml. In relation to Saccharomyces boulardii, only betulonic acid at concentrations of 25 and 50 mg/ml exhibits an inhibitory effect.
