Abstract

Theme of qualification work: «Investigation of the possibility of obtaining a metal matrix composite based on a nickel alloy». The paper considers the development of a powdered metal matrix composite and the study of the performance characteristics of compact samples made from it. Tasks of the final qualification work: – analysis of scientific and technical literature on dispersed-hardened metal matrix composites; – selection and justification of starting materials for the development of powder composition; – evaluation of the technological characteristics of the initial powders and the developed composite mixtures; – compaction of powder compositions by spark plasma sintering using several temperature modes; – evaluation and comparison of sample properties, analysis of the results obtained.Inconel 625 alloy was used as the matrix material of the developed composite, which is characterized by resistance to oxidation, corrosion, and friction wear in chemically aggressive environments. As a hardening phase, tungsten carbide was used, which has high hardness, as well as increased wear-resistant properties. Optimal, from the point of view of the continuity of the synthesized sample, the ratio of components in the powder composition and the parameters of the sintering mode are selected, in which the resulting composite is characterized by a significant increase in tribological properties and hardness relative to the matrix material.
