This work is devoted to the development of a model laboratory work for the "Laboratory of Elements of Optical Telecommunication Systems" of the Higher School of Applied Physics and Space Technologies of the Institute of Physics and Technology of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University of Peter the Great. The main tasks that were solved to achieve the goal: literature review, analysis of manufactured erbium amplifiers, development of a control screen, development of a work program. This laboratory work will allow students to get acquainted and get the first experience with modern version of an amplifier for optical communication lines. In addition, the work may be interesting for teachers, and, if necessary, be used in their research.
