Abstract

Theme of the final qualification work: «The development of hard drive monitoring operator for container orchestration systems». This thesis discusses existing approaches to monitoring hard drives in the Kubernetes container orchestration system and provides a comparative analysis of them. Based on the presented analysis, a conclusion is drawn on the need to improve and automate approach-es. The thesis proposes an approach to automating the collection of metrics from hard drives by implementing the Kubernetes “operator” for a tool with which you can effectively obtain information about the state of disk media in the system. Solved tasks: 1) Conduct a review of existing hard drive monitoring soft-ware. 2) To propose an approach for monitoring in the container orchestration system. 3) Implementation of a software tool for monitoring disk media in a container orchestration system. 4) Testing the resulting product on real systems. 5) Comparison of the proposed approach with existing solu-tions. As results, the temporal characteristics of collecting infor-mation about disks using existing approaches and the proposed ap-proach are given. This software is used by DELL EMC.
