This work is devoted to the development of a marine diesel engine with a power of 1300 kW. Tasks that were solved during the research: 1. Calculation and optimization of the engine working process. 2. Dynamic calculation of the engine. 3. The engine balance analysis. 4. Strength analysis of the crankshaft and engine connecting rod. 5. Development of engine layout drawings. The analysis of modern marine high-speed engines that meet the requirements of the theme of graduation work was done. The calculation of the work process by the method of Grinevetskiy-Masing and the optimization of the work process by the method of mathematical modeling using the software "Process 2000", the dynamic calculation of the engine, the calculation of the strength of the main parts were performed.
