Abstract

The given work is devoted to the determination of patterns of vehicle speed and road traffic safety, including using the traffic calming strategies. The research set the following goals: 1. Literature analysis on the application of the traffic calming strategies. 2. Analysis of the practice of different countries of application of the traffic calming strategies. 3. Justification of the criteria for the effectiveness of the application of the traffic calming strategies. 4. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the application of the traffic calming strategies. 5. Methodology for assessing the effectiveness of the application of the traffic calming strategies. 6. Development of recommendations for the design of the traffic calming strategies. 7. Development of recommendations on making changes and additions to the current design standards. Methodology for assessing the effectiveness of the application of the traffic calming strategies has been developed, which will allow to choose the best option for design. Development of recommendations on making changes and additions to the current design standards have been developed. Russian standards need to introduce foreign experience, revise standards, update obsolete data and expand opportunities for the design of Methods.
