Abstract

Marking new knowledge causes occurrence of author's result in the total volume of scientific knowledge. This study focuses on the specifics of linguistic and pragmatic structure of English-languageresearch paper: the analysis of research papershas shown linguistic units that are used to express the quantum of the new knowledge gained by the author, as well as evaluative linguistic units. The strategic structuring of the scientific texts, that is a special way of verbalization of the quantum of new knowledge for its better understanding by the reader, was analyzed in the process of linguistic interpretation.
