El artículo presenta las nociones de mirada de soslayo y mirada vertical como parte de los avances de una investigación en desarrollo, acerca de las comunidades discursivas y los regímenes escópicos involucrados en los archivos de la represión organizados por Dirección de Inteligencia de la Policía de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (DIPBA). De manera concreta se analizan los legajos correspondientes a dos masacres paradigmáticas en la vida política argentina: la ‘Masacre de Trelew’ (agosto de 1972) y la ‘Masacre de Ezeiza’ (junio de 1973).
