TÉTANO: RELATO DE CASO

Abstract

<p>Tétano, doença infecciosa aguda, não contagiosa, causada pelas exotoxinas do <em>Clostridium tetani</em>, um bacilo Gram-positivo anaeróbio. O bacilo é normalmente encontrado na forma de esporos (e, por isso, pode viver vários anos no meio ambiente), tendo como reservatórios: pele, fezes, terra, poeira das ruas e trato gastrointestinal de animais. A doença pode ser classificada em acidental ou neonatal. A imunidade permanente ocorre com a vacina, e os filhos de mães imunes apresentam imunidade passiva e transitória até quatro meses. <strong>Objetivo:</strong> este estudo objetiva relatar caso de um paciente portador de tétano acidental, que esteve internado no Hospital São José do Avaí (HSJA), Itaperuna-RJ, no período de março a maio de 2017, justificando-se pela gravidade e dificuldade em se concluir o diagnóstico. <strong>Metodologia: </strong>o estudo se iniciou com a coleta de dados no HSJA, entrevistando o paciente e pessoas que estiveram em contato com o enfermo. Além de embasamento teórico, com extensa revisão bibliográfica em busca de fundamentação teórico-metodológica para o desenvolvimento do estudo, foram utilizados recursos como: anamnese, exame físicos, exames laboratoriais e de imagens. <strong>Resultados: </strong>para elucidar o diagnóstico do paciente foram utilizados critérios clínicos e a dosagem de creatino fosfoquinase. Epidemologicamente, existia história de manipulação de solo e criação de animais. <strong>Conclusão: </strong>é necessário atentar-se à importância da profilaxia com vacinação antitetânica e informação da população quanto à procura de profissionais da saúde frente a ferimentos, queimaduras ou traumatismo suspeitos de conterem a exotoxina, direcionando os mesmos para um diagnóstico mais precoce e, consequentemente, um tratamento eficaz. </p>
