Abstract

Jens Fischer [Augustus und Apollon. Notizen zu den Hintergründen einer ‚göttlichen‘ Beziehung] untersucht den Ursprung der Beziehung zwischen Princeps und dem Gott. Während Apollon gemeinhin als seine Schutzgottheit gilt, ist bisher wenig erforscht, wann und warum Augustus sich für ihn entschied. Indem Fischer die Beziehung der beiden im Kontext der Verehrung des Apollon in Rom allgemein untersucht, wird deutlich, dass viele Entscheidungen – beispielsweise der Entschluss zum Bau des Apollontempels auf dem Palatin oder die dortige Aufbewahrung der sibyllinischen Bücher – deutlich früher als bisher angenommen zu datieren sind.
