ITIL in Bibliotheken

Abstract

IT-Dienste unterstützen nahezu alle Bibliotheksprozesse und sind eng mit Ihnen verflochten. Das Management der IT-Infrastruktur ist ein für Bibliotheken wichtiges Thema. Die IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) verspricht, Rüstzeug für diese Aufgabe zu liefern. In einer Literaturstudie und anhand von drei Fallstudien an Universitätsbibliotheken (Macquarie University Sidney, TU München und ETH Zürich) wird ihr Einsatz in Bibliotheken untersucht. Als Ergebnis wird ein differenziertes Bild über den Hintergrund von ITIL in Bibliotheken gezeichnet und es werden Kosten- und Nutzendimensionen ermittelt.
