The new development of the waste disposal facility register in Saxony called ABENSA will be presented. The web application provides the public with a wide range of information on waste disposal facilities and thus forms the first element for an online portal on waste management in Saxony. Various functions enable criteria- and map-based search for disposal and waste treatment facilities, the results of which can be visualized, combined, and exported. Public access is supplemented by an administration application for the responsible LfULG experts, who use it to control data transfer to the ABENSA database, check data quality, and make corrections and additions. The data managed in ABENSA is compiled for the portal from operational third-party systems. The ABENSA web application was implemented on the basis of the disy Cadenza analysis and GIS platform, into which the administration tool was integrated as a PHP application. The challenges of the implementation included the development of a common data model that appropriately takes into account the relevant data from the source systems and enables the desired evaluations, both for the public and for internal authority purposes, as well as data historisation. The data is analyzed in interactive dashboards using the Cadenza Workbooks software.
