En America Latina, el legado de la Comision Economica para America Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL), que parte de la vision estructuralista clasica (Hirshman, 1958; Prebisch, 1967; Singer 1950; Pinto, 1970), constituye uno de los antecedentes mas importantes.
