Abstract

Mowiąc o migracjach do Irlandii z czasow “celtyckiego tygrysa”, mozna rozroznic dwa etapy. Na początku w latach 1996–2002 migranci odczuwali prawdziwą dume z rodzimej kultury, w ktorej sie wychowali, a jednocześnie wykazywali zywe zainteresowanie irlandzką tradycją. Poźniej jednak, od roku 2002 az do kryzysu w 2008, nastąpil okres czesto opisywany jako „bling”, ktory charakteryzowal przepych: nastawienie na materializm oraz brak zainteresowania kulturą i kulturową wymianą. Co za tym idzie, wbrew oczekiwaniom zapoczątkowanym przez nowe fuzje, nie rozwinela sie na szerszą skale irlandzka literatura inspirowana spotkaniami z „innym”. Niewątpliwie jest to zadziwiające, biorąc pod uwage, ze tak wiele pozycji z kanonu literatury irlandzkiej zrodzilo sie z otwartości na „obcego/innego” – poczynając od Swifta i Edgeworth po Joyce’a i McGaherna. Mimo to nadal tli sie nadzieja, ze przybyszom uda sie przeksztalcic irlandzkie mity i doświadczenia – byc moze nastąpi to poprzez wzbogacenie ich kulturowych narracji o elementy irlandzkiej rzeczywistości – i ze fuzja roznych tradycji dyskursywnych doprowadzi do powstania nowej literatury i kultury.
