Abstract

W artykule na przykladzie tekstu Szatanskich wersetow Salmana Rushdiego przedstawiono sposoby konstruowania kulturowego wizerunku imigranta koncentrujące sie wokol ukazania go jako istoty o charakterze demonicznym i monstrualnym. Glownym zalozeniem przyjetym przez autorke jest podobienstwo dyskursu imigranckiego do dyskursu potworności, ktore uwidacznia sie w sferze praktyk kulturowych i jezyka. Przy zastosowaniu narzedzi teorii postkolonialnej i dekonstrukcji analizie poddano sposoby przedstawiania cial i kulturowej przynalezności imigrantow zarowno w tekście literackim, jak tez pokrewnych mu reprezentacjach wizualnych. „Upotwornienie” Innego wynikające z atawistycznego leku przed obcością zostalo w pracy wpisane w kontekst wspolczesnego kryzysu migracyjnego.
