Abstract

El conocimiento sobre la diversidad y poblaciones de ciertos órdenes de aves de hábitos terrestres tales como los Tinamiformes, Galliformes, Columbiformes y Gruiformes de los bosques de tierra firme de la Amazonía ecuatoriana es aún incipiente. Por ello, este estudio buscó evaluar la riqueza y abundancia de estos taxones en la comunidad waodani Toñampade, mediante la técnica del fototrampeo. Desde el 6 de julio hasta el 9 de octubre del año 2021, se obtuvieron 317 registros independientes correspondientes a 541 aves de 4 órdenes, 4 familias, 8 géneros y 9 especies con un esfuerzo de muestreo de 1784 cámaras trampa noche. La especie más abundante fue Psophia crepitans (naguañi) con un IAR de 0.44. A pesar de la caza actual, la presencia de Tinamus major, Nothocrax urumutum, Mitu salvini, Penelope jacquacu y P. crepitans como especies bioindicadoras de paisajes tropicales más intactos, confirma aún el buen estado de conservación del área de estudio. No se encontraron diferencias en la composición de las especies en función de la menor o mayor distancia al centro poblado. Finalmente se confirma la factibilidad de aplicación del método de fototrampeo para el estudio de aves terrestres muy elusivas, difícilmente detectables por otros métodos.
