Caso de estudio: ecosistema de recaudo interoperable en República Dominicana

Abstract

La primera implementación de un sistema de recaudo para transporte público en República Dominicana se realizó en el año 2009, con la puesta en marcha de la primera línea del metro de Santo Domingo. Esta ejecución incorporó una plataforma tecnológica con dispositivos de recarga y validación en las estaciones y la Tarjeta del Metro como medio de pago electrónico. Este sistema se extendió a la línea 2 y 2B de metro en los años 2013 y 2018, respectivamente, y a la primera línea de teleférico en el 2018. Con la activación del teleférico, también se extendió la plataforma tecnológica del sistema de recaudo a treinta y un autobuses de la Oficina Metropolitana de Servicios de Autobuses (OMSA), considerando que el recaudo en los autobuses de la OMSA se efectuaba con dinero en efectivo. Así, fue posible la aceptación de la Tarjeta de Metro en este subsistema de transporte.
