Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo realizar un modelamiento de un evaporador de triple efecto en corriente directa para la concentración de soluciones azucaradas. A partir de un balance de materia y energía se estableció los modelos matemáticos no lineales que describen el proceso de evaporación, el número de ecuaciones planteadas fueron 6. La solución de este sistema de ecuaciones nos permitió determinar variables de proceso como flujo de vapor de calentamiento (F), el área de transferencia de calor (A), la temperatura del primer efecto (T1), la temperatura del segundo efecto (T2), el licor concentrado que sale del efecto 1 (L1), licor concentrado que sale del efecto 2 (L2), la concentración en el efecto 1 y 2 y la concentración del producto final. Para probar los modelos matemáticos establecidos en esta investigación se resolvió un sistema de evaporadores de triple efecto en corriente directa y los resultados se compararon con los reportados por otros investigadores, los cuales fueron similares, indicando de esta manera que los modelos son acertados para la descripción del sistema de evaporación analizado.
