Sobre dos conjuntos de joyas con micromosaicos y brillantes encargados por Fernando VII en 1818 y su devenir posterior

Abstract

En 1818, Fernando VII encargó la realización de dos conjuntos de joyas con micromosaicos orlados por brillantes. Los sesenta y ocho micromosaicos, con personajes mitológicos y vistas de Roma, fueron ideados por el pintor José de Madrazo y elaborados por el especialista Filippo Puglieschi, mientras que las ornamentaciones con brillantes se encomendaron al joyero Arcieri, proveyendo el rey buena parte de la pedrería. En 1831, el monarca ordenó transformar los dos aderezos en uno para María Cristina de Borbón-Dos Sicilias, su cuarta y última esposa, quien en 1858 lo transfirió a su hija, Isabel II. Los últimos datos hallados acerca de los micromosaicos datan de 1874, cuando fueron referidos en un inventario de alhajas redactado por la soberana durante su exilio en Francia.
