Descolonizar las relaciones culturales internacionales

Abstract

«Prácticas decoloniales en las relaciones culturales internacionales» presenta un argumento convincente para replantearse los fundamentos epistémicos y las prácticas operativas de la interacción cultural mundial. El intercambio cultural, la cooperación artística y el artivismo ofrecen un enfoque dinámico y con implicaciones políticas sobre la descolonización, al desafiarnos a imaginar modelos de diplomacia cultural más justos e inclusivos. Las voces del llamado Sur Global, una mayoría global con experiencias específicas de dominación y luchas por la liberación, son clave para entender los retos de los problemas actuales, ya que se originaron en una práctica histórica específica de la modernización durante los últimos siglos. Escuchar estas voces puede ser una manera de empezar a resolver algunos problemas. Las personas responsables de las políticas y las instituciones deben responder no solo sirviendo de altavoz a estas voces, sino también transformando las propias estructuras a través de las cuales se produce e intercambia la cultura en la escena mundial. Las prácticas decoloniales en este sentido pueden entenderse como prácticas que buscan una mayor igualdad mundial y un empoderamiento cívico en las relaciones culturales internacionales.
