Erratum to Dynamic Stresses, Coulomb Failure, and Remote Triggering

Abstract

Figure 13h on page 84 in Hill (2008) illustrating the triggering potential of Rayleigh waves with strike-normal incidence on reverse faults at a depth of 10 km is incorrect. The corrected version of Figure 13 is reproduced here. The correction involves exchanging the stress orbits on the left-hand side of the Mohr’s circle in Figure 13h with those on the right-hand side.
