This study investigates the adsorption behavior of a specific solute (e.g., a heavy metal ion or an organic dye) from an aqueous solution onto a novel adsorbent material (e.g., activated carbon, biochar, or a composite). The main objective is to determine the equilibrium relationship between the solute concentration in the bulk solution and the amount of solute adsorbed onto the solid surface at a constant temperature. Experimental data were fitted to established adsorption isotherm models, specifically the Langmuir and Freundlich models, to elucidate the underlying adsorption mechanism, maximum adsorption capacity, and the intensity of adsorption. The results provide crucial insights into the material's potential for wastewater treatment applications, confirming its efficiency and suggesting the nature of the binding process (e.g., monolayer vs. multilayer adsorption).
