The purpose of this study is to explore the role of affective exhaustion on dehumanization in healthcare professionals. Specifically, we test the hypothesis that people will need to keep more distance between themselves and their patients whether they have higher levels of affective exhaustion, and also whether they have lower levels of work significance. Higher levels of dehumanization towards patients will be related with higher levels of self-dehumanization. Individual differences will play an important role in this process.
