Dis hekimliginde bir tedavinin basarisini etkileyen onemli faktorlerden biri disin vitalitesinin dogru bir sekilde belirlenmesidir. Fakat pulpanin, kalsifiye dokularla cevrili bir alanda, tamamen kapali durumda olmasindan dolayi vitalitesinin degerlendirilmesi karmasik bir olaydir. Bu yuzden pulpanin canliliginin degerlendirilmesinde indirekt metotlar kullanilir. Pulpa vitalite testleri pulpa kan akisini tespit eder, hassasiyet testlerinden daha guvenilir olcum metodu olarak gorulur. Arastirmalar pulse oksimetre ve lazer doppler flowmetry gibi kan akimi olcum cihazlarinin, pulpal vitalite degerlendirmesinde umut verici oldugunu belirtmektedir. Bu derlemenin amaci literatur bilgilerin kapsamli olarak incelenmesi sureti ile klinisyenlere pulpa vitalite testleri hakkinda guncel bilgilerin saglanmasidir. Anahtar Kelimeler: pulpa, vitalite, kan, akis PULP VITALITY TESTINGS: REVIEW ABSTRACT The vitality assessment of teeth is one of the crucial diagnostic procedures in the practice of dentistry. But it is complicated by the fact that the dental pulp is enclosed within calcified tissue. Therefore, indirect methods must be used to determine pulpal vitality. Pulp vitality tests attempt to examine the presence of pulp blood flow, as this is viewed as a better measure of true health than sensibility. Investigations have stated that diagnostic devices that examine pulpal blood flow, such as the pulse oximeter and laser doppler flowmetry, show promising results for the assessment of pulp vitality. The aim of this paper is to provide the clinician with a contemporary information about the pulp vitality testing methods by detailed investigation of recent literature.
