OZET Travmaya ugramis veya derin curuk lezyonlarina sahip dislere, pulpa vitalitesinin devam etmesi icin vital pulpa tedavileri uygulanmaktadir. Gunumuzde en cok uygulanan vital pulpa tedavisi proseduru, pulpa kaplamasidir. Remineralize olabilen dekalsifiye dentin dokusunun veya ekspoz olmus pulpanin biyouyumlu bir materyalle ortulmesi ve tersiyer dentin yapiminin uyarilmasi amaclanir. Iki tip pulpa kaplamasi yontemi vardir: Indirekt pulpa kaplamasi ve direkt pulpa kaplamasi. Indirekt pulpa kaplamalarinda en cok kendi kendine sertlesebilen kalsiyum hidroksit icerikli patlar ve cinko oksit ojenol simanlar kullanilmaktadir. Ayrica, adeziv sistemler gibi alternatif pulpa kaplamasi materyallerinin kullanimi da gundeme gelmistir. Toz kalsiyum hidroksit, direkt pulpa kaplamalarinda geleneksel olarak kullanilan en guvenilir materyal iken gunumuzde mineral trioksit agregat altin standart olarak kabul edilir. Bu derlemenin amaci, pulpanin canliligini korumak icin acik pulpa uzerine veya pulpaya cok yaklasildiginda dentine yerlestirilen, yeni nesil biyouyumlu taban materyallerini (liner ve(ya) base) degerlendirmektir. PULP CAPPING TREATMENTS IN RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY ABSTRACT The vital pulp treatments are applied to the teeth with deep caries lesion or trauma for the purpose of maintaining the vitality of pulp. Nowadays, the most commonly performed treatment procedure is vital pulp capping. It is intended that the decalcified dentine which can be remineralized or exposed pulp are sealed with a biocompatible material and promotion of tertiary dentin formation. There are two types of pulp capping procedure: direct and indirect pulp capping. Traditionally, self- curing calcium hydroxide paste and zinc oxide-eugenol are carried out in indirect pulp capping. Furthermore, the use of alternative indirect pulp capping materials such as adhesive systems has also been on the agenda. Even as, powdered calcium hydroxide conventionally used in direct pulp capping is the most reliable material; at the present time mineral trioxide aggregate is considered as the gold standard. Aim of this review is to evaluate new generation biocompatible base materials (liner and/or base) that used on exposed pulp or remained small amount of dentine over the pulp in order to maintain the vitality of the pulp.
